Hi, I'm Rachel. Or Alyssa, if you will. I've got a dozen nicknames, that's just one of them.

I'm a chick in my early 20's living in Denver. Irish/German descent, if that's of interest somehow. Life started in PA, ten years later scooted to OH, and then I landed out here. So far, out here's really my most preferred of the places I've lived. I'm a bit of a mountain addict, and even if I don't live in them-I get to see them every day.

I suppose you'd like to know a bit more about me than that.

Well, lets see. I fit in the poly/bi/pagan/geek crowd.

To elaborate on this, I'm pagan. Cross-culture pagan, working in the Celtic, Norse, and Greco-hellenic pantheons. No, I do not claim any specific path/religon/whatever. I'm sort of just an ecletic, doing my own thing as it works for me and my gods. I call the Morrighan my Mother, but I belong to four others also. In chronological order, after Mom: Freyja, Loki, Herne, Arachne. I also interact on smaller levels with several others, but those are the gods who recieve my main focus. I am also an animist and an energy worker, and dabble a bit into the mystic/magic side of things. And for the solid lore folks out there-I put equal weight in UPG as I do in hard written lore, so despite disclaimers, please expect that when reading my writing.

I am also currently a council member of the <a href="http://www.silverbranchgoldenhorn.org>Silver Branch Golden Horn</a> ADF protogrove. If you want to read up on ADF a bit more, <a href="http://www.adf.org">here</a> is the official website for the organization. ADF is an international Indo-European Druidry fellowship. The grove I belong to focuses on the Norse and Celtic influences, but in addition to those, ADF as a whole also includes several others including Baltic/Slavic and Greco/Roman Hellenic.

I'm polyamorous. To sum up in a nutshell: ethical dating of more than one person. If you want to know more, <a href="http://www.xeromag.com/fvpoly.html">here</a> is a good site to go to. There's an FAQ up at the top. I'm also bisexual, and kinky. Right now, I'm engaged to one wonderful guy-unfortunately not on DW-and looking into another.

I'm a geek. This spans a surprisingly large range of areas. I'm a gamer. I play tabletop and live action RP games (my favored being those of White Wolf, D&D, and NERO), computer games, and am fairly addicted to my DS. On occasion I dabble into video game systems, but with those I prefer to watch rather than play. I'm a costumer, a jeweler, a silkpainter, and a crafter. On top of my costuming (which spans period/historically-based garments to steampunk to goth to whatever), jeweling, and silkpainting, you can at any given time find me with my camera, painting with acrylics, sketching with pen/pencil, or using charcoal and pastel.

I'm also a rennie. This, meaning that I frequent rennfaires as often as is possible. This also tends to permeate my everyday life, as my costuming often ends up getting added to my garb closet, and I find myself rather addicted to swords and other pointy things. Then there's the "Ooh shiny things!" complex that I find many rennies have. This can span people or items, if it is shiny, it is oogled. Or bought, if it happens to be an affordable item. Upon being introduced to the steampunk genre, I have discovered that I adore it all enough to try and incorporate it into my rennie-ness.

In other aspects of life, I'm very domestic. I love cooking/baking (and also EATING that cooking/baking), interior decorating/design and the like are occasional hobbies of mine, etc etc etc. Though you really won't find me a neat-freak. I like a certain level of clean, but beyond that is strange to me. I'm a chocoholic, and a knowledge and book whore. I love being in the woods, and hiking/climbing-though I really do dislike being harnessed up to have to get up high places. If I can't get there on my own, it's too high. I bellydance when I have the opportunity, and I indulge in swordplay/sparring, archery, and horseback riding when opportunity arises as well. I adore cats, but it takes a very specific dog for me to not twitch. I am more than a bit of a computer addict.

That's really the most that I can think of about me right now. If you'd like to know more, please feel free to message me. Or, if I'm oh-so-interesting enough that you'd like to add me, please read my public filters post and comment with what you'd prefer (or with what you'd like to be left off of). If you don't, and I add you back-that's just fine. But you may end up with some info you didn't want.

I understand there are quite a few folks who don't see eye to eye with me, but...please, be respectful, do not try to convert, and please treat what you read/hear as my reality/experiences, even if it is not yours. Keep to that, and I see no problems.
